The judges in all the heats are comprised of a carefully chosen selection from Industry professionals, local media and local business. Many have been judges for a number of years but FIC prides itself on the completely independent and impartial composition of our panels!
Chris Groves who will be MC throughout the entire competition will be involved in all deliberation in the difficult search for the winners

STEPHEN GARLAND aka The Giggling Guiri
Accredited programmer at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival since 2002. Created ComedyinSpain in 2004, followed by The Giggling Guiri Comedy Club in 2005, in 2008 Festival Internacional de Comedia de Barcelona, launched internationally at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2009, and in 2011 created the first Funniest FICer.
Seen a 1000 comedy shows!

Jessica Breitenfeld
Jess trains therapeutic clowning and applied improv to companes but of course she doesn’t sell herself as funny- she knows humor is just a tool to connect and engage audiences.
She was awarded Top Female Speaker in Europe ‘22 and is 5x state champion of Public Speaking.
A tedx speaker on #maleempowerment and author of not 1 - but zero books.

2023 WINNER
Mauricio Lombardi - BCN's Funniest FICer 2023 Winner
The 2023 Final was yet again an incredibly hotly contested affair with the brilliant Wendy La Fortu making life very difficult for the judges on the night.
The small margins came down to Mauricio's skill in delivering a brilliantly crafted set it was in the end very merecido on the night!
Special Mention has to go to Karen Liu who took the inaugural Best Newcomer Prize and bagged herself some Stoke Travel goodies!
Final
